Besides the highlights mayoco lists even more functions and possibilities for users, supervisors and developers:
  • Input fields on demand
Depending on definition input fields are created to enter simple text, big text, chose images and page links.
  • Multilingual
The backend is available in different languages. At the moment: German, English, Portuguese (Braz.), Italian, Spanish and French. Even the titles of input fields created for dynamic pages can be shown in different languages.
  • WYSIWYG
Using a modern browser (e.g. Internet Explorer in a version starting from 5.5 or Firefox 0.6.1 and up) users can edit texts in an editor that also shows up styles and formats on screen and supports drag-and-drop for the import of Word documents.
  • Including images, links, etc.
All media files and pages that are managed with mayoco can be integrated or linked to a page by a simple select field.
  • Automatic sitemap and menu creation
To make pages editable they need to be added to the sitemap. This can be a simple list of files without any order or worked out as a file tree that makes it possible to integrate sitemaps and menus to the website using the "menu" type in a mayoco tag.
  • Administration of static pages
Not only dynamic pages can be manages by the sitemap also static and existing ones can. So it is possible to add dynamic content to old sites or to make an existing site dynamic step by step.
  • Access to pages
Every page can have its own users and groups that may edit its content or that have the right to publish it.
  • Hide without deletion
Single pages and on definition even whole menu branches can be hidden by one keypress without being deleted. The same way list entries can be deactivated.
  • Individual index and error page
To prevent from showing an error message when the user wants to open a non-existing page you can define a page that shows up instead of this. Also you can define an index page that can be seen if just a path and no page address was entered.
  • Backend skins
The backend interface skin for administrating the website can be configured individually: Depending on the backend style there's a change in colors, icons, fonts, ...
  • Browser based
With a current browser the website can be managed from all over the world via internet. No additional software is needed.
  • Simple requirements
To use mayoco you only need a server with PHP4.1 support and handling of sessions. A database like mySQL is not neccessary because mayoco is file based.
  • Different combinations of templates
To define output pages you can combine different templates to one new. Also nesting is possible. Sourcecodes that are often needed can be used multiple times.
  • Output like prefered
The system can be used for the output of almost any page format. Depending on the template definition this could be a HTML-, PHP-, XML-, WAP- or even a WML-page for example.
  • Search engine proof
By setting a file extension of your choice for the output page (e.g. htm) indexing by a search engine is possible without problems.
  • History
mayoco keeps a copy of every entry and sitemap stage. So you can always return to an older version if you want to.

Thanks to its modules mayoco is variable in the amount of integrated functions. These can be extended to individual needs or shrunk down to a minimum:

  • User management
Additional functions in some modules like the messaging system and the content editor, access right for modules based on groups. Own password and individual access to pages for every user.
  • Individual settings
Every user can use its prefered backend language and skin.
  • Additional password
If someone lost the access password it is possible to receive an additional time limited access code by e-mail.
  • Clipboard workflow
On definition pages can be edited by every user and then saved to a clipboard. That way administrators can first check new content created by other editors and then publish it.
  • Page statistics
A small overview of the pageviews is available that shows what browsers and systems were used by the visitors and what pages they wanted to see. Select between bar and pie charts.
  • Images and multimedia files
The media manager offers upload of files to the server, renaming, deleting, preview and display of hidden file information. Tagging is also possible. These files can simply be selected in the content editor and added to a webpage. The "cleanup" function is there to find and delete unused media.
  • Resizing of images
Web images in format JPG and PNG can be resized by the system.
  • Messaging system
With the internal messaging system you can transfer private and common information. Additional sending of the message as e-mail is also integrated.
